24th May (Wednesday)
- construction of furnaces, drying-up and roasting of iron ore etc.
- iron smelting
25th May (Thursday)
- iron smelting
- lectures (in the evening)
26th May (Friday)
- iron smelting
- smithy treatment of bloom(s) and demonstration of fabrication of simple iron objects
- party around a fire place in the evening
Charcoal pile will be prepared in advance and burned during the event.
Accommodation and food
Participants are expected to pay for the accommodation and food themselves (there is also
a possibility to be accommodated in the main building of the Technical Museum in Brno / ca 30
minutes by car from Stará huť, 9 euro per night / or to sleep in sleeping-bags in the Museum of
Stará huť /shower available/).
Further information
Another iron smelting for public will take place and other events organised by Technical Museum in Brno
and others will be held in Stará huť at Saturday May 27th. You are all invited to stay for this event.
